Parents and Carers
KEEN York Sunday sessions are an INCLUSIVE opportunity for children in York or surrounding areas with any kind of special educational needs and/or disabilities. Sessions are completely FREE, and while parents are welcome to leave, families (including siblings) are more than welcome to participate.
Sessions can be tailored to your child's needs, so please inform KEEN York if your child will be attending a session.
Trained Volunteers
All volunteers are students at the University of York. All volunteers must have completed the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Certificate. The majority of volunteers have completed a DBS background check, per legal regulations, and those who have not are always in the presence of a DBS-checked committee member.
Training is provided by experienced KEEN York coordinators and the University of York Students Union (YUSU). Moreover, KEEN York is Makaton Friendly and key committee members are trained in Level 2 Emergency Paediatric First Aid - with specialist training being provided by professionals in these areas.

Spread the word!
If you've got a link with your child's school, other parents, groups similar to KEEN or anything else, and want to help spread the word about KEEN, please let us know! We've got posters and leaflets, and we're always eager to increase our outreach and bring new families to KEEN.
