About Us
KEEN York is a volunteer run service, provided by students at the University of York, offering free interactive sports sessions for children who have Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities (generally 3-11 years, but up to 16 years old). Siblings are also very welcome.
Our Sessions*
Sundays
1-2pm | PZA/012 East Campus University of York
Weekly sessions for children in the York community based at the University of York. Sessions include a range of activities including ‘old school’ playground and musical games and fitness focused sensory activities. With everything from musical bumps, to obstacle courses, to collaborations with Student Union societies such as trampolining, badminton and swimming, there is something for every child!
* Sessions only run in University semester time.
“I think that KEEN helped her become more confident. She loves the sessions; it’s her opportunity to be active, to try something new, to have fun and also to be independent! She doesn’t consider volunteers as supporters or carers - they just play and have fun together!” - A KEEN York Parent.
